To start off, let me first say that in general, I like the whole series of Dover Children's Thrift Classics Fairy Tales. Filled with murder and betrayal, this book is questionably appropriate for young children, though it does leave behind some important morals.

This is a slight and very inexpensive book, but has proved to be a hefty and well-loved book in my house. The stories are short--about 2 to 3 pages each. They are well written for reading out loud, very funny and full of surprises and suspense. Each tale ends (like The Arabian Nights stories) at a suspenseful point and promises the children that if they behave they'll get to hear how the event will unfold. Since they are short, one can read two or three stories each night, and this book can last a week. My 6 year old daughter picked up the book (after I've finished reading it) and started to read it herself. My four year old loves it. And the stories carry some important themes--such as be careful what you tell a stranger (in this case a hungry cat) yet they were not overly preachy, nor do the themes intrudes upon the drama of each story.

This book is a great value all around. Worth more than [price] for sure!

I think that this book is excellent and Jessie Hass did a very good job on it. I also thought that it was acculy her parents story and it happened when her mom was only eight.

The arrangement of each work of poetic art and word painting builds in intensity as it slowely, yet enjoyably leads the reader to a climactic conclusion with Coleridge's heart-pounding and breath-taking "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner." For poetry fans, it is a must read, and for casaual readers, the joy and plaeasure of reading this colection still shines through.

This book has a wide range of floral images for various projects. The CD is great; saves scanning time and frustration. Highly recommended.

Perfect for use with group cookbooks, holiday letters, etc. Just finished Thanksgiving themed letters, used cornucopia graphic. Like the other books in the series (books & reading, animals, Egyptian designs, Indian designs, etc.) you can run them off the CD-ROM without installing them on your hard drive. Collect 'em all kids!

This book is about the Imperial hotel built by Frank Lloyd Wright in Tokyo during the Meiji era. It has been quite famous after the Kanto Big Earthquake in 1923 because it was not collapsed by the earthquake.

Victorian clipart: I liked this volume better than the bird illustrations CD-ROM. The butterflies resemble 'scientific' artwork of the period. The illustrations look great on envelopes, letters, CD jewelbox labels, you find a use. The color pics seem to print faster than Dover's B&W ones, too. As with the other Dover CD-ROMS, you can pull the images off the disk without installing them on your HD.

360 traditional copyright-free images from Victorian-era publications. So many Santa Claus, Christmas trees, and good old Christmas scenes! All images are included in CD-ROM in TIFF format. I love the image Santa reading Christmas Catalog and I edited it and added to my Christmas Shop web.

Paul has taken Egyptian motifs and produced them in glossy plastic stencils. There are six individual design motifs, from a mummy case to an ankh. There's also a nice stencils of the Egyptian god Anubis. These designs are perfect for school or home use. I would recommend this stencil booklet to anyone who loves all thing Egyptian. The price here is beautiful...I paid more than what it is here. Still it's well worth it.
